Assessment Process

Membership of the EEiB accreditation programme begins with an interim period during which time your company demonstrates that you are willing to work towards an action plan containing ways to improve energy efficiency and environmental practices.

The core of the interim period is the need for companies, in consultation with their EEiB Energy Specialist, to provide a sustainable Energy Efficiency Action Plan detailing how they will meet the conditions set by the five EcoCheck elements. The assessment consists of 3 units:

Unit 1: Scene Setting:
The Energy Specialist presents an overview of energy efficient practises in the workplace, and discusses the aims for the assessment.

Unit 2: Business EcoCheck covering all elements of:
1. Business Premises
2. Heat, Light, Water
3. Recycling
4. Equipment
5. Transportation

Unit 3: Leveraging your Energy Efficient Business

The Energy Specialist will work with you to produce your CSR report and environment policy and show you ways you can boost your company profile to strenghten partnerships and create new opportunities.

Within 14 days of the assessment you with receive a pack containing the businesses current energy usage position, an action plan listing various goals to be accomplished by the business and a full documentation pack. Each task in the action plan will have the approximate GHG and energy reduction expected and the cost benefit associated with it.

There is an annual check-up by your Energy Specialist to update the company’s Action Plan and deliver to the company news of recent energy initiatives.
