Responsible Business

Just a few years ago climate change had a relatively low profile but not so today. It’s captured the attention of leading scientists, forced the governments of industrialised nations into action, and involved the public at large. Yesterday, campaigners were fighting to prevent pit closures, to keep mines and coal-fired power stations open. Today, they are fighting to close them. Such is the speed of change, and with it comes the recognition that climate change is a very real threat.

And it has to be accepted that fossil-fuelled power stations are top of the league table when it comes to polluting the planet.

The campaigners are right, in as much as we do have the potential to change how we live in our environment, and for business, how we work. Change doesn’t mean we will have to rebuild our infrastructure, or to finance new equipment. It means, that we must acknowledge the challengers facing our environment and take responsibility.

Collectively we need to think smart, think green, and build a sustainable future.
